A Classic Car Fan’s Guide to Deadwood & the Black Hills
Chrome, classic lines and a historic Main Street: Kool Deadwood Nites gives car enthusiasts a reason to explore South Dakota’s Black Hills. Whether you are a longtime participant or discovering the show for the first time, this guide brings together the event, the cars and the official merchandise.
A classic car show in historic Deadwood
Kool Deadwood Nites combines classic cars, show-and-shine gatherings, a parade and live music in Deadwood, South Dakota. The 2027 event is scheduled for August 17–22. The detailed activity schedule is tentative and may change as the event approaches.
Start with our Kool Deadwood Nites 2027 event information for registration details, the daily schedule and parking shuttles. Use the concert lineup page for performer announcements as they become available.
Build Sturgis into your visit
The KDN–Sturgis Show & Shine brings registered cars to Main Street in Sturgis. The tentative 2027 schedule lists Wednesday, August 18, from 11 am to 2 pm, with public voting for the Sturgis Choice Award and a group photo.
Displaying a car in this activity requires event registration and the participation credentials listed in the schedule. Visit our Sturgis Show & Shine page for the location, participation requirements and tentative program.
Traveling from Wyoming, Colorado or Montana?
Make the event schedule your starting point when planning a Black Hills visit. Decide which days matter most to you—viewing cars, participating in judging, attending the parade or enjoying the music—before choosing your lodging and travel dates.
If you are trailering a classic car, confirm trailer parking arrangements with your accommodation before arrival. Trailer parking is not available at the event’s listed shuttle pickup sites. Check the Event Info page for shuttle locations, operating times and restrictions.
For registration, event parking or schedule questions, contact the Deadwood Chamber at 605-578-1876. Merchandise and online-order questions have a separate contact on our Contact Us page.
Discover the cars behind the tradition
Our KDN Winner Archive introduces past Committee’s Choice winners, including classic Chevrolets, Ford hot rods, a Plymouth Coupe and a 1973 Plymouth Cuda. Explore each winner’s page for the photographs and information currently available. More owner stories and car histories will be added as they are collected.
Classic car style, wherever you live
You do not have to attend the show to enjoy its automotive artwork. Browse classic car T-shirts and official event shirts, or choose non-dated KDN shirts for a design without an event year.
For collectors and gift shoppers, explore KDN patches, car show posters and souvenirs for classic car fans. Annual designs make a keepsake of a favorite event, while non-dated styles connect with car culture year-round.
